How to boost your income from home

Are you starting a business? Or putting money aside for one of life’s big investments? If so you’re probably looking into ways you can make some extra cash on the side. Here are some ideas for making money for those who need to stay at home.

Get an online job

So many people these days want to work remotely, but jobs that allow you to telecommute are still few and far between. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to target niche areas and more obscure industries that most people haven’t thought of yet – you’ll be surprised at what you can unearth with a bit of detective work. Online casinos are one great example. When you think of how many people your average casino employs, from dealers to entertainment to housekeeping staff, it’s not surprising that online casinos are also a lucrative source of employment. Online Bingo halls for example need virtual chat hosts to make their players feel welcome, answer questions and create a sense of community. This is exactly the kind of remote job you can do from home that will bring in extra cash without leaving you feeling exhausted from commuting to a second job.

Make a passive income

With so many ways to make money online, it’s not surprising that some of them involve simply sitting back and letting the money roll in without lifting a finger. This is known as “passive income”. Of course, before you make your passive income you will need to put in some initial work, creating a product or service that is so good that it sells itself. Ebooks are one example of this. Write an ebook on a niche topic that has low competition yet is highly sought after, and you will make a passive income on it pretty quickly on sites like Amazon. The beauty of this is that you can be making money months or even years from now, on something that took just a couple of days or weeks for you to produce.

The video below has a few more passive income ideas:

Rent out your possessions

Look around your home. What do you have of value that could be rented out to someone who needs it? It could be your treadmill, your parking space, or even your spare room or office. The internet has made it ridiculously easy to rent out your stuff these days, and there are plenty of sites where you can simply post information about what you are renting to potential customers. The potential for earning extra cash is big if you have something that others really need.

Become a virtual assistant

Did you know there are people out there who are so busy that they are willing to pay an assistant to do ad-hoc jobs for them? It could be helping with a start-up, or doing errands for a busy CEO. Or it could be simple data entry tasks. Whether you choose to sign up with one of the many virtual assistant websites or go it alone as a freelancer, there is money to be made if you have a few hours to spare every day.

Those are just a few lesser-known ideas for boosting your income in your spare time. Which ones would you try? Leave a comment.
